Mariposa Celebrates 30th Anniversary
Mariposa Community Health Center celebrated its 30th anniversary with the “Big 30 Pachanga.”
Mr. Jim Welden, Chief Executive Officer, congratulated and thanked all staff members for their commitment and dedication to the patients of the Health Center, the community and the Mariposa family. He commented that “Mariposa has grown from an organization with a total budget of about $400,000 taking care of 1,500 patients in 1980, to this year, when with a budget of $16 million, we will provide primary health care and essential education services to 17,000 patients.” Welden continued that what really matters is the compassion and care that we provide day in and day out to make a positive difference in the lives of our patients and the health of the communities we serve. He also gave special recognition to the Board of Directors, the medical and dental providers and the twelve staff members who have been with the Health Center more than twenty years.
A special award was presented to Mr. Robert Liñeiro, who as a member of the Center’s Board of Directors demonstrated extraordinary commitment and dedication to the Health Center and the community for twenty-five years. As the Board member with the longest tenure, Mr. Liñeiro came to the Board in November 1985 and has served in a number of important capacities including President and Treasurer.
