Nogales Mercado Farmer’s Market
An opportunity to buy local, healthy, fresh food and handmade gifts!
Nogales Mercado is THE place to be on Friday afternoons. Here in our beautiful and diverse town of Nogales, Mariposa Community Health Center and Nogales Community Development combined access to healthy food with local economic development to create this vibrant, year-round Farmer’s Market.
Experiencing food at its finest can encourage even the pickiest eater to explore healthy nutrition. When it comes to fresh fruits and vegetables, La Mesa Cooperativa at the Nogales Mercado is the perfect place to find fabulous produce at an accessible price for everyone in the family. La Mesa Cooperativa is a consignment table that welcomes any backyard gardener, cook or farm to consign their products. This way we connect small local producers with families who value variety and freshness.
Our creative, talented vendors include delicious Krazy Koyote Kettle Corn, and Maria Elena’s handmade soaps and accessories. Local cooks and crafters come out to provide a wide variety of items to choose from. It is definitely worth the trip.
With winter making its way out and spring arriving, the Nogales Mercado has upcoming events in March and April that will not just attract vendors but also local food trucks to join in the fun. A visit from a local chef will be teaching the community a healthy and delicious way of preparing a meal. For the children of Santa Cruz County, a cooking demo from a special character. Follow us on Facebook www.facebook.com/NogalesMercado and check out our website www.nogalesmercado.com, where you can sign up for our e-newsletter to stay up to date on upcoming events.
You can find the Mercado vendors every Friday at the corner of Court St. and Morley Avenue from 3PM-6PM October-April and 4PM-7PM May-September. Located at the “Little” Mercado, it’s the perfect setting for a relaxing afternoon of shopping and socializing. The Nogales Mercado accepts several forms of payment in order to make healthy food accessible for everyone in our community. You can use SNAP (food stamps), and certain vendors accept WIC, Farmer’s Market Nutrition Program (FMNP) benefits and Debit cards. The Mercado even offers DOUBLE UP SNAP Dollars, matching your SNAP benefit up to $10. Take advantage of this offer only at the Nogales Mercado!
Nogales Mercado is always seeking vendors and talent to join the team. You can turn your homemade food items, handmade crafts or fresh fruit and vegetables into your own small business.
